August TV calendar: Dates for new and returning shows

And the shows just keep on coming. Yes, the coronavirus pandemic has put a halt to much of the production in Hollywood. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have plenty of fresh TV fare coming our way.

Among the highlights: “Lucifer” kicks off its fifth season on Netflix, “Endeavour” returns on PBS, a new “Star Trek” series comes to CBS All Access, “Big Brother” kicks off an all-star edition on CBS and the NFL training camp series “Hard Knocks” tackles not one, but two teams, on HBO.

And then there’s another Shark Week on Discovery Channel.

Here’s a rundown of premiere dates for major new and returning series in August. (Dates and times are subject to change):
